Orders and Shipping
What payment methods do you use?
Can I spread the cost of my order?
Yes you can! – We have teamed up with PayPal to offer all our customers Interest Free payments over 3 months! Simply add your items to the basket, if the total value is between £30 & £2000 you can select Pay With PayPal and then Pay Later.
Once you have been transferred to the PayPal website, where you can select Pay Later. You will then be able to make a single payment now and the rest will be taken over the next 2 months on the same date as your initial purchase.
Please note: This option only applies if you have a PayPal personal account. Unfortunately, we do not offer this service for PayPal business account holders.
How can I change my shipping address?
Please call us as soon as possible on 01279 870333 if you need to correct your delivery address. Wherever possible, we will try to amend the address. The sooner you contact us the easier that process is likely to be.
Do you provide pro forma invoices
Yes we do! To order using a Proforma Invoice simply follow the instructions below.
Add products to the basket in the usual way. Complete the necessary steps until you get to the payment stage. Then click on Pay with Proforma Invoice.
Your Proforma Invoice will be emailed to you. Please hand this to your accounts department for payment by Bacs. Please email [email protected] to confirm your payment, quoting your order reference number, the order date & the amount.

Can I collect from your store instead?
We welcome collections from our store. Our cut-off for warehouse collections is 4:30pm. We are closed on Bank Holidays & you can view our Christmas opening hours when published closer to the holiday.
Can I view Products before I buy?
Yes you can! We have a large showroom & warehouse full of shop fittings in Takeley. You can view all our products and discuss your requirements with our experienced staff. We are open Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 5.30pm. In certain circumstances we are able to stay open after 5.30pm and at weekends. Please contact us for details.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is calculated by weight and size of products. Our advanced system calculates the weight to the actual gram, so you are never overcharged. Most items are sent using a parcel courier. Larger items are sent on pallets using a national carrier.
To get an exact cost for delivery, simply add your items to the Shopping Basket. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter your correct destination postcode. Click Update Estimate to display your net delivery charge.
When will I receive my order?
We dispatch all orders received before 11am on the same day when possible. All other orders will be dispatched the next working day.
Can I get a discount for a large order?
Uni-Shop don’t use gimmicks, we just offer the highest quality & cheapest shop fittings in the UK all year round!
So whether your order is £50 or £10,000 you know you are getting the best deals available. That said, you are more than welcome to enquire!
I need a product that is not on your website?
We stock thousands of products and design bespoke Shelving Systems, however if there is something specific you are looking for, please contact us with your requirements.

Returns and Exchanges
What is your returns policy?
Uni-Shop want you to be entirely satisfied with your order.
We do not supply goods on a trial basis, nor on sale or return. Prior to the return of any goods, you must contact us, in writing and within 7 days of delivery and subject to our agreement, the goods may be returned (we will provide you with a returns number).
Any items must be returned to ourselves unused, undamaged and in original packaging with packaging and seals unbroken. In this case, you will be liable to a 20% re-stocking charge, plus all delivery and collection costs to and from yourselves.
Can I return a special order item?
My order arrived damaged?
In the unlikely event that your order is received damaged, then please contact us on the same day of receipt. We will then organise repair, replacement or refund. Due to carrier’s terms and conditions, we are unable to process any notifications outside this period.
How do you refund?
I received the wrong item!
In the incredibly unlikely event that you have been sent the wrong item, please contact us immediately with your order number and details of the item received and our customer service team will assist you.
What if I can't inspect my order at delivery?
If you are unable to inspect your goods at the time of delivery, please ensure that you sign “unchecked“, otherwise all items personally signed for will be deemed as inspected on delivery.
What if my item develops a fault?
Should an item fail or develop a fault please contact us as soon as possible as many ‘faults’ turn out to be something that can be resolved quickly over the telephone.
If the item needs to be returned, you must return the faulty item directly yourself. When the goods have been received, inspected and found to be faulty, we will dispatch a replacement item to you as soon as possible. We cannot accept return of goods that have been dismantled or a self-repair has been attempted.
If the item is not found to be faulty, it will be returned to you at your cost. This returns policy does not affect your statutory legal rights.

Specific Product Questions
What is Slatwall?
Slatwall goes by many names such as Slat Wall, Slat Board, Slatboard, Slot Board Groove Wall Board or Slatted Wooden Panels.
It is the most popular way of displaying products in the UK. Available in either 8′ x 4′ or 4′ x 4′ sheet sizes, it has horizontal grooves across it, allowing slatwall fittings to be placed to display products.
These grooves can be filled with coloured slatwall inserts, to strengthen the board and add to its appealing characteristics.
The slatwall panel is screwed to the wall, creating a wonderful display for all your products. For more information, view our Slatwall Information Guide.
How much does Slatwall cost?
Do you stock landscape Slatwall?
We can produce Slatwall panels in a landscape format of 1.2m (4ft) high x 2.4m (8ft) wide. Grooves will be cut horizontally to accommodate this orientation.

Can Slatwall have different pitch sizes?
Can Slatwall veneers vary in colour shades?
As Slatwall wood veneers are a natural product, please be aware that there may be colour variations. We try and ensure all our wood veneers match, but we cannot be responsible for Slatwall being matched from other suppliers.
Why is Slatwall delivered on a pallet?
We want you to receive your Slatwall in perfect condition. Slatwall is easily chipped and must lay flat to avoid warping. For this reason, we dispatch all Slatwall on a pallet.
Pallet size constraints dictate that 1.2m x 1.2m Slatwall must go on a single pallet. Larger 2.4m x 1.2m Slatwall must go on a double pallet. If you order both sizes, we will dispatch all Slatwall on a double pallet.
Are large Slatwall panels best for bigger jobs?
Whilst larger boards have their merits, it is often overlooked that using smaller boards makes life a lot easier and cheaper. Our 1.2m x 1.2m Slatwall boards have a half slot start, which means that when one board is mounted on top of another, the butt joint is in the groove of the board and so cannot be seen.
This option is normally more economical to deliver than our 2.4m x 1.2m boards. They are also simpler to collect and easier to handle.
Are Gridwall/Slatwall Fixings cross compatible?
It’s a question we get asked many, many times!
In one word NO!
Gridwall fittings are not compatible with Slatwall and Slatwall Fittings are not compatible with Gridwall!
So please make sure you order the correct fittings for your product and if you are not sure, we are happy to help.
Do you sell trade show shelving?
We have a huge range of shelving for trade shows. In fact, our exhibition shelving is suited to just about any products you wish to showcase.
We can supply mobile shelving, trade stand shelving and market stall shelving.

Why do shelving bays come with just one upright?
Our retail shelving systems only come with one upright, as they are designed to be the start of a run of retail shelving. If you only require a stand-alone shelving bay, then an additional upright will be required.

What are your opening hours?
Our shopfitting warehouse & showroom are open Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5:30pm. Cut-off for warehouse collections is 4:30pm.
We are closed on Bank Holidays and over the Christmas holiday period (we will post shutdown dates closer to the season).
How long have you been trading?
Can I view some of your installations?

Can you design & install a new refit for me?
Absolutely we can! We have many years of experience designing and installing layouts and interiors, as well as designing and manufacturing specialist shop fittings too!

Can I order an item that has sold out?
If the item you require is sold out, please contact us and we will see if we are able to re-supply it to you.
Do you buy/part exchange used shelving etc?
Sorry, but that would not be for us.
We do not supply used items due to quality guarantees and health and safety requirements. As we only stock and sell new products, we would not be able to resell used shop fittings.
